Children’s Events ~ Spring 2018

Just letting you know some of the upcoming events in the Children’s Room this spring. Ms. Jenn and the Nutrition Detective will visit us three more times ~ Tuesdays, Apr. 3rd, May 1st and Jun. 5th. We will have stories, songs and a craft at 10:00am for preschoolers. Wetlands: Habitats presented by LC Bates Museum on Tuesday, Apr. 17th at 10:00 am during school vacation week. Fall Events at the Library!

We still have a few more events associated with the Voices Of The Kennebec grant.  Deb Gould will be here on Tuesday, October 11th from 7:00pm – 8:30pm to discuss her historical novel The Eastern, set in Pittston, Maine.  Gay Grant will be here on Tuesday, October 25th from 7:00pm – 8:30pm to discuss her book Destination Unknown, a biography of a World War II evacuee. What’s Happening In The Library

As we roll into fall, school starting, apple picking, falling leaves, etc. etc., I took a few minutes to reflect on how busy we were over the summer months. And it has been a busy summer here at the Gardiner Public Library.  We had 18,793 people walk through our doors. That’s up from 16,489 last summer between June 1stand August 31st.  735 people attended 59 different programs in 2016.  That’s up as well – 683 people attended programs during the summer of 2015.  I wish I could give you accurate statistics about the Summer Reading Programs – both children’s and …
