Teen Time has started up again this year. Every Thursday afternoon after school a bus load of about 15-30 students are dropped off for about 3 hours to hang out in the library. They are given a snack from a local eatery, then socialize, play games, and do homework.
On Thursday of this week and next week they will get tours of the Gardiner Fire Station. Captain Pat Saucier gave the students a wonderful tour, they got to climb into the fire trucks and had all their questions answered, like “How much does a fire truck cost?”, “How long are the shifts?” and “Where do they sleep?”
Anyone willing to spend time with the teens playing games, showing them a craft or just sitting and talking to them, are welcome to come on Thursday afternoons and help out with the students. Just give Ginni Nichols, YA Librarian a call at 582-3312. We look forward to having these students every Thursday afternoon and showing them what we have to offer at the Gardiner Public Library.
