Easter Eggs

Although we didn’t dye “Easter eggs” as a family when I was growing up, I have always been fascinated by the creative results that are often produced.  These results happen sometimes on purpose, sometimes accidentally.  Yankee magazine published an article in 2012 that is now featured on their New England Today web page telling how to dye eggs using natural, home ingredients.  Give it a try. Children’s Events ~ Spring 2019

A few upcoming spring events in the Children’s Room. ~~ Scales & Tails : Amazing Reptiles presented by Chewonki Tuesday, Apr. 16th at 10:30 am – school vacation week. Kennebec Valley Child Abuse Prevention event Friday, Apr. 19th 10-11:30 am. A local police officer will read a book, followed by snacks and a craft. Children’s Events ~ February 2018

Just letting you know some of the upcoming events in the Children’s Room for the month of February. Ms. Jenn and the Nutrition Detectives will visit twice this month  ~ Tuesday, Feb. 5th and Friday, Feb. 22nd We will have a story, songs and a craft at 10:00am for preschoolers. Maine’s Amazing Mammals presented by LC Bates Museum on Tuesday, Feb. 19th at 10:00am during school vacation week. Art @ the Library on Tuesday, Feb. 12th from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. Mrs. Claus Visits Gardiner

This month being the Children’s Librarian I had the honor of being Mrs. Claus for a few community events. I was Mrs. Claus in the Festival of Lights parade in Gardiner and reading to some students at Helen Thompson Elementary and Pittston Consolidated Schools.  It is an amazing feeling to be Mrs. Claus and to see all the happy faces on adults and children.
