Museum & State Park Passes

The Gardiner Public Library is happy to offer the following Museum & State Park Passes to all active Gardiner Public Library card holders. To request any of these passes, please visit the Gardiner Public Library at 152 Water Street, Gardiner ME 04345 and speak to a staff member at the First Floor Service Desk.

Please note: one pass per family per day before making your plans please check with us. Book in advance.


Maine Maritime Museum: Located in Bath, ME, this pass entitles the holder to free admission to the Maine Maritime Museum for one visit per day, per trip. This pass is good for general admission only, and admits one family per day (up to eight individuals in a single family group. Children age 17 and under always receive free museum admission and do not count towards the eight person total). When visiting the museum, please present the signed and dated form that you receive at the Gardiner Public Library. Please visit the Maine Maritime Museum website for hours of operation and more.

Farnsworth Art Museum: Located in Rockland, ME, the Farnsworth Art Museum is  is open year-round as the only center dedicated solely to American and Maine-inspired art. This pass admits up to four visitors per day. To learn more about the Farnsworth please visit their website here.

Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine: This pass entitles the holder to free general admission to one play session at the Children’s Theatre and Museum of Maine for up to six people on the date written by the authorized library staff. Each additional visitor will be charged a discounted group rate. Please note: pass holders must reserve their play session via the Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine website http://www.kitetails.org

Southworth Planetarium: Located in the basement of USM’s Science building, Portland Campus, 70 Falmouth Street, Portland Maine. This pass entitles the holder to free admission to the Southworth Planetarium for any planetarium show. This pass admits a family (up to six members) per show. When visiting the planetarium, please present the signed and dated form that you receive at the Gardiner Public Library. To learn more, please visit their website here.


Maine Wildlife Park: This pass gives individuals and families discounted admission to the Maine Wildlife Park (56 Game Farm Road, Gray, ME 04039). With this pass, each individual (up to 7 per visit) ages 3 and up will pay $5.00 per admission with this pass. The Maine Wildlife Park does not accept credit or debit cards (cash or checks only). The 2024 operating hours of the Maine Wildlife Park are:

  • May 20-October 14: Open @ 9:30am, Gates close @ 4:30pm, All Visitors must exit the park by 6pm
  • October 15-November 11: Open @ 9:30am, Gates close @ 3:30pm, All Visitors must exit the park by 5pm

Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens: This pass entitles the holder to free admission for two adults + any number of their children/grandchildren under the age of 18 each calendar day during the summer season. The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens are located at 105 Botanical Gardens Drive, Boothbay, ME 04537. The Library Pass is valid for admission only. Member discounts and registrations do not apply. The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens are open May 1-October 20 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Boothbay Railway Village Museum: This pass entitles the holder to free admission for two adults and all accompanying children or grandchildren on each visit. The Boothbay Railway Village Museum is located at 586 Wiscasset Road Boothbay, ME 04537 and is open between Father’s Day through Indigenous People’s Day in 2024. The museum is closed on Mondays.

Maine State Park Pass: Admits occupants of up to a 17 passenger vehicle to day-use facilities of Maine State Parks and Historic Sites. This pass can be borrowed for 3 days. There is a late fee ($10/per day) if the pass is returned after 3 days. If lost, the patron is responsible for the full cost of the pass ($105). Please note: the Maine State Park passes is not accepted at the following locations: Acadia National Park, Allagash Wilderness Waterway, Baxter State Park, Maine Wildlife Park or Swan Island, Penobscot Narrows Observatory, Penobscot River Corridor, Peacock Beach, Scarborough Beach, Songo Lock.
