The Gardiner Public Library is unconditionally opposed to all attempts at censorship on any grounds whatsoever and will always defend the collection against those who would deny their fellow citizens free access to materials they personally find offensive. Requests for material restriction or removal will be referred to the Board of Trustees.

The Gardiner Public Library endorses the “Library Bill of Rights” and “Freedom to Read” statements adopted by the American Library Association and incorporates them into the library’s policies.
